How to stay hydrated and refreshed in the months May and June

May and June are oppressive months of the year in India when life becomes truly unconformable, because of the extreme heat and humidity in the weather. And it becomes tedious to work in the daytime and virtually impossible to have a sound sleep at night, without a proper cooling system like an air conditioner. Nowadays, many offices have air conditioners to keep their employees chilled and refreshed to improve the productivity of their company. However, not all the salaried employees have the luxury of air conditioners, especially those, who have found their niche  in sales or marketing field. So, it’s very important to stay fit and hydrated during the summer season. Regular intake of fluid like sprinkling fresh water, fruit juice, and low-calorie drinks, etc. can prevent us from being dehydrated.

Some symptoms of body being dehydrated-

Feeling of dry mouth

Body fatigue

Mild or Serve headache

Brian freeze or confusion in mind

Getting thirsty frequently

Some tips to stay hydrated this summer season-

Drink plenty of water

70% of our body weight is made up of water and our body depends on water to survive. Water performs various functions in the human body such maintaining an optimum body temperature; removing body waste, lubricating joints, etc. So, it is highly recommended by doctors to drink at least 6- 8 glass of water daily, which is quite reasonable in the heat scorching months of May and June. It is always advisable to keep a bottle of water at your arm’s length in the office to keep your mind totally refreshed to work.

Stock drinks products at home

It is best to stock concentrated juices, which is low in calorie content at home. These drinks can be easily mixed with water to give fruit drink or flavored drink in less than a minute. Moreover, these are also available in the sachet form which is easy to use and carry and are very popular amongst children.

Chocolate powder for milk

Chocolate milk drinks are healthy and tasty for both children and adults. Chocolate powder when added to cold milk, gives a chocolaty taste to the milk.

Sip sports drinks that are rich in electrolytes -

After working out in the gym or playing outdoor sports, it is essential to sip in some sports drink that is rich in electrolytes. This prevents a body condition called hyponatremia".
